    Description

This Datapack makes Budding Amethyst break a lot slower by removing the block from the block tag list for blocks mineable by pickaxe. If you have a Haste 2 while using an Efficiency 5 Netherite Pickaxe, it still will take a between 5 and 6 seconds to break.

this datapack breaks any mod or datapack that adds blocks that are mineable with pickaxes. to mitigate this, we have to place this datapack below the datapacks of mods that add those blocks. i did that, and it has no problem so far. the first image is an example that breaks the mods, the second is an example of successful mitigation

i looked into using that updated datapack, but saw that it only supports 1.20.2-1.20.4. i play 1.20.1, so i will continue to use the old one that i downloaded right here and is now unobtainable, with the mitigation discussed above. 1.20.1 is more standard than those newer versions, so more people would use it if it were supported. also since this is such a simple datapack i do not see why it couldn't work all the way back until amethyst geode was added in 1.17. does the new one really not work for 1.20.1? why do you make available only for such new and unusual versions?

I forgot exactly why I made my pack the way I did. It works by removing Budding Amethyst from the pack list. It isn't possible to tell the game to remove a block from the list, so I have to replace the list with a copy that doesn't have Budding Amethyst in it. I removed the last update I made. I guess my pack has to be loaded be before other packs make their changes.

As for the pack version, I just started adding to the list of supported packs when Mojang added the ability to include a range of versions in the pack format. I think this pack would work for 1.20.1, I don't think the Mineable by Pickaxe tag was messed with in the later versions.

I wasn't sure if this could be done. I thought that I wouldn't be able to do this without mods, since block hardness can't be changed by data packs, but I never thought about the pickaxe tag! Anyway, this seems to work fine. This is going to make geode mining so much better, thanks!

Very good. I always feel bad accidentally breaking amethyst, but also don't like using lower quality picks just to avoid it.
