I'm no longer going to update this, I recommend using Armor Statues from vanilla tweaks: link.

This pack allows to use the following trigger commands to effect Item Frames or Glow Item Frames:
  • "/trigger frame_fixed": Set the frame fixed
  • "/trigger frame_invisible": Set the frame invisible
  • "/trigger frame_fixed_invisible": Set the frame fixed and invisible
  • "/trigger frame_adjust_lost": Recovers lost frames (invisible frames with no item, or fixed frames covered by a solid block).
Use "/trigger <command> set #" to affect up to 20 frames.

Removing the item sets the frame visible. To unfix the frame, set a block into the frame's space (except water).
