(A Data Pack for Minecraft 1.16.2 - 1.16.5.)

Highlights:

- A chaotic dimension full of... creepers and cats, mostly

The creepers' home world may once have been a lush and beautiful place, but today, after generations of near-constant explosions, it's a world barely holding itself together, its ragged remnants perpetually swathed in a sickly green mist. It's probably not someplace you'd ever want to visit. But, so what? Visit it anyway!

You can access Creeper World by constructing a portal frame with TNT, and then igniting -- er, activating -- it by pouring a bucket of lava into it. The resulting explosion, in addition to activating the portal, will magically transform the TNT into green terracotta. (I was amused by the idea of requiring portal frames to be constructed of TNT, but was substantially less enthusiastic about the idea of TNT portal frames as permanent parts of a base's aesthetic.)

You can build a portal in any of three different sizes, depending upon your style preference. You can use 10 blocks to create a 1x2 portal (the size of a normal doorway), 10-14 blocks to create a 2x3 portal (the size of a vanilla nether portal), or 12-16 blocks to create a 3x3 portal. Note that in the frame for a doorway-sized portal, corner blocks are required, but in the larger frames, corner blocks are optional. Automatically-generated return portals will always be 2x3, but can of course be rebuilt to match your preference.

Once you've entered the creepers' home dimension, you'll find the world populated by both regular and charged creepers, as well as by creepers' natural predators, felines. You'll also find some other enemies, as well, just for variety. But to balance the danger, you'll also find that rare gems and ores generate somewhat more generously than in the overworld. Mining in Creeper World can be profitable, if you can avoid being blown up in the process.

This data pack should be compatible with any data pack or mod that adds custom dimensions or otherwise alters world generation, at least unless that other data pack or mod also expects you to construct portals with TNT, which is frankly rather unlikely.

Also included in this data pack is an optional "Rainbeau's Portals Resource Pack," which can be used to make the data pack's portals look a bit nicer.

KNOWN BUG: Due to the coordinate scale difference between the overworld and the creeper realm, portal "effects" are not properly centered within the frames of auto-generated return portals. This is especially evident when the optional resource pack is in use. Deactivating and recreating a portal will fix the issue. To facilitate doing so, portal frames in the creeper realm (but not in the overworld) can be made directly from green terracotta.

CREDITS: "Creeper World" draws heavily for its world building from my "Sky Islands" data pack, which in turn is based upon Sanonasu's "Floating Islands." As well, "Creeper World," like many other data packs that add new dimensions, utilizes Timber Forge's portal code.

I enjoy the fact that if you fall past ~ 0 ~ you get teleported to ~ 255 ~
This makes real interesting housing systems possible.

I did that mainly so that players wouldn't lose their stuff if they fell accidentally, or if they appeared under instead of in a newly-generated portal (as, unfortunately, can sometimes happen) and fell into the void without any warning. If you fall, you'll almost certainly still fall far enough to hit something and die, but at least your stuff will be collectable. :)

Oh nice xD
It truly is a beautiful thing when a simple mechanic is explored and expanded upon by players.
