How to Play Rising Edge -
Getting Started
So you wanna play Rising Edge, huh?
Here's how to start.
First off, you're gonna wanna download the Datapack. Then you're gonna wanna upload it to a serverhost or similar. Open your server and get your Friends (Soon to be Enemies) to join. Make sure you have Operator Permissions.
Then you wanna find a spot to play in. Rising Edge Games are limited to a 180x180 Block Square for more intense gameplay, and also due to game limitations.
This also seems like a good place to mention how fast the game progresses. Every Rise, except the first, occurs every 8 seconds. The first rise will happen after 15 seconds of the game starting.
Once you're ready, run the command:
/function risingedge:game/start
This will set everything up and let your game commence!
Game Settings
So you wanna change some settings? Well lucky for you, I have made some pre-ready toggles for you to use.
/function risingedge:tools/toggles/toggle_glowing
Toggling Glowing will give everyone the glowing effect./function risingedge:tools/toggles/toggle_saturation
Toggling Saturation will give everyone the Saturation Effect, making the need for food obsolete. This is enabled by default and will turn off when the void reaches Y: 64./function risingedge:tools/toggles/toggle_spawnplatform
Toggling the Spawn Platform will Disable a one block, bedrock platform that spawns when a player dies. This prevents a cycle of Player Deaths to the void./function risingedge:tools/toggles/toggle_pain
Toggling Pain will enable Fall Damage, Fire Damage, and Freezing Damage. This is enabled by default and will turn off when the void reaches Y: 64./function risingedge:tools/toggles/toggle_pvp
Toggling PvP will enable PvP Early. PvP is disabled by default, and enables automatically when the void reaches Y: 64.Spectator Modes and Player Modes
Don't wanna play, and just wanna watch? I got you.
/execute as <PLAYERNAME> run function risingedge:tools/become_spectator
This will give you a special "Spectator" tag that will prevent you from being put in a game! Just remember to replace <PLAYERNAME> with the soon-to-be spectator's username/execute as <PLAYERNAME> run function risingedge:tools/become_player
This, on the other hand, will make someone a player, meaning they will be added to games. Remember to replace <PLAYERNAME>!Giving and Removing Lives
Wanna give out more lives? Cool. Everyone has three by default. Make sure you do this once the game has started, as it will reset when it starts.
/execute as <PLAYERNAME> run function risingedge:tools/give_life
Running this will give the person specified an Extra Life! Remember to replace <PLAYERNAME> with the persons username./execute as <PLAYERNAME> run function risingedge:tools/remove_life
Maybe you don't wanna give Lives, but remove them instead. No Worries! just run this. Remember to replace <PLAYERNAME> with the persons username.I hope you enjoy this minigame! I spent alot of time on it, and it has well over 65,000 commands in it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for even reading about it. It makes my day knowing people appreciate my work. <3

a few things:
1, I love the presentation. It’s very hyped-up and energetic.
2, the reviews. I love doing this stuff, as you can get people’s opinions, and also have some fun.
3, it’s really easy to customize, which is awesome and fun.
the only thing though, is (from my brief look-over of the article :p) is that it doesn’t show the default time per block.
Haven’t played it yet, but I’m super excited!
And yes, I really should mention the time per block. It's quite quick, as I found in playtests that led to more interesting fights.
The first rise will take 15 seconds.
Every rise after will take 8 seconds.
