Simply it allows you to smelt Totems of Undying into Gold Nuggets, I have increased the experience output as it is a "magical item" however feel free to amend that to suit your needs.

it's for people with a raid farm, dying is rather uncommon so totems don't matter much if you have alot
and i think coverting into ingots was better like wtf, 9 totems in exchange for 1 gold ingot

If you have a raid farm that produces loads of totems, and you have nothing to do with them, why not make them into gold?
