Today, I posted something to the projects section of planet minecraft. I was very proud of it, and my friend told me i might have a shot at the front page. To my disappointment, the post only got 23 views in one hour. Either something went down, or there's something I must be doing wrong.
This is one of the reasons I'm angry at pmc right now, people favor posts that don't display a particular ammount of effort to me, but when I post a build I worked very hard on that I think displays a certain amount of effort, it gets 23 views. Someone tell me what went down or what I'm doing wrong.

See, I wasn't actually asking to get on the front page with this thread. What I really want is to get the front page without any aid from the forum or chat.

Along with the other suggestions, I suggest making a sig banner (it definitely helped me get more views/subs). There are a lot of sig shops, or you could make one yourself. It should prominently show off your best creation/creations and possibly have your name or a short bit of text. I can almost guarantee you'll get more hits with it.

i recommend adding downloads to your projects and like irontoast said put photoshop affects or get the glsl shader mod and take pictures. Downloads attract people to projects like crazy getting you lots more views. You dont have to if you dont want to but a lot of the time it helps.

You have to understand that while you spent a lot of time on your project, you won't get hundreds of views in a day.
Sometimes it slow depending on the time you upload and if there are a lot of people online that actually browse the projects tab.
Your builds are very nice and they will get their recognition over time.

I agree with WolfOfDoom. You need to make it look interesting for them by making a cool image

You have some very nice builds, but I notice one thing about most/all of them. You need more screen shots showing off the build, maybe include a world download rather than making it on a server.. Just a few suggestions. Also, like the first post above me says, make the featured image nice and flashy..

I've noticed people will be drawn in by simple photoshop effects. Make the projects' main preview picture flashy and appealing, it doesn't have to be an overview of the entire project.

Your buildings are quite impressive. However you must understand the workings of PLMC patience. Let your work speak for itself.

It's just the fact that some people go on the chat lounge and advertise there for hours on end, and when enough people look, it goes front page. From there, people subscribe because of their first project, and then they go lazy and people still diamond because their "famous".
I know this doesn't apply to everyone who is well known, but a good mass of them are. Just keep doing what you do, and enjoy sharing your ideas with the community.
