Worldpainter Creation

For the past few weeks I've been working on different maps for a project. And, I've finally come across a continent that we are to use on our coming RPG server. I'm very familiar with what you can achieve in worldpainter, and I've made use of custom brushes, tree schmeatics, terrain, cover layers, and heightmaps.

Right now I'm at a point where I am not so sure on how I am to continue developing this continent in worldpainter, and I'd appreciate any input, tip or advice. The project is also RP oriented, so if you have any ideas concerning lore, and regions, that'd be very helpful.

As you can tell by the picture the climate stretches from the icy and cold north to a warm, dry and humid south. The length is about 28 000 blocks. The upper half of the map is close to finished, but everything is still to be painted in biomes.
You can find an image of the entire map here:

Here are some pictures of the north:
Some trees are from RezolutnyDarek's map the Burgomeister's Mansion. Others are from Lentebriesje's custom fantasy tree pack. Some I made myself, influenced on these.

The Great Forest:
Some trees and been exported and edited from my absolute favorite map made public by Teweran; Limsa Lominsa.

Looks like Westeros. Anyway, awesome work. Always a fan of another WorldPainter user.

That's really nice, can you get a visual in-game representation for us as well?

Wow! I've been experimenting with worldpainter but I could never achieve much an amazing creation! A question, How do you get the edges of the continent to look so rugged and natural, my island borders always look to smooth and not natural.

Hi there, I made the height map myself, and imported it into the program. If you simply want a base, I strongly recommend this video http://youtu.be/sRaxI7EnX-k?t=3m9s if you are familiar with photoshop.

Sure, I'm quite happy with the North. I'll post some images.

Thanks! I wanted it to be long, much like Westeros. So in that you may find a resemblance.

Thank you.

My computer can handle it though!
