Hey guys,

I'm creating charactes in magicavoxel and I"m interested in what's involved in getting these into minecraft.

I see a couple of options:

1. Creating a skin. Easy, but limited.

2. Modding an existing mob to have this appearance.
3. Creating a new mob altogether.

Can you give me some tips on where to start?

I don't know is this answer too late or not.

Starting with software to modeling, I recommended to use Blockbench a free software with user friendly interface
After that, you must know your platform, or what this model will be used for.
Java or Bedrock?
Mods, Resource pack, or Server?

Quickstart - Blockbench This's where I start making with my model :D, and if you have more question there Official Blockbench Discord is very active

You will need MCreator as well when it comes to mobs

Blockbench is only for the modeling and for straight animations, living mobs must find their way into the game and therefore there is MCreator : )
