I like to listen to music while I make skins.

- If I particularly am struggling with what colors to go with, which in my opinion is the foundation for a lot of skins not based off of a specific image, I like to look up color palettes on the website. My favorite site to find good palettes is https://colorpalettes.net/ because you can search by color or just browse until inspiration strikes. From there I can make a skin based on the colors I find.

- If I’m just struggling with ideas in general, I like to take inspiration from possibly my own wardrobe, my hobbies, the season it currently is, some of my favorite influencers, etc.

- I don’t make a whole lot of, well, non-teen style skins per say, but I know some people do and I have ideas for those type of skins but just cannot execute them cx So for those people who make those skins, I would take inspiration for something you have read, or maybe an inanimate object that is sitting in front of you. Really, anything around you could be inspiration.

Look at grian and mumbo jumbo videos when I need inspiration, look through various LEGO websites and ask myself “how cool would that look in Minecraft on my world” and browse through Captain_Jek’s many vehicle builds

I have many methods of inspiration:
• I look at what’s around me and base a skin off that. Oh there’s a little stone statue? Well that would be a great skin!
• Look up things online, like different aesthetics or outfits. ex: summer, flowers, water... I also hear Pinterest is super helpful!
• I always tell people to make a skin of their favorite character from a book/movie/tv show. I’ve only done this a few times but it was so easy to do because I loved the character and ideas just kinda flowed!
• Fanskins!! It doesn’t require coming up with any new designs, just remaking someone you’re a fan of’s persona or personal skin in your own style. It also shows you how they make skins and colors, and can sometimes influence future skins (fan skin making helped me a lot when I first started skinning).
• Listen to music. Music always gets my brain going and I come up with many ideas when I’m listening to my favorite songs.
