These are my textures ^^I didn't really stick to the tutorial that much but I think they came out pretty well. I went for a rather round design for the cauldron because I couldn’t really figure out how to make the inner shadow stuff in GIMP. It took me many hours to make this. I wish I could join the competition this week but I guess it’s fine. I’ll join again next week.

Awesome work Echin! I love the rounded design - it never occurred to me that I should try it out (otherwise it would have been in the tutorial!). Thanks for doing this!

Where are the templates that are updated? Thanks, -SDJ
1
Well, there isn't really any template required anymore, due to the new resource pack format. With texture packs, all of the textures were in huge files, but now they are all separate, so all you need to know is the name of the file - this can be found in the minecraft.jar.

I wuv your vids, but please tell us how to make a texture pack with Paint.net D:
1
I haven't used Paint.net before myself, but I am aware of others following my tutorials with it. Perhaps I could make a one-off video showing how to copy the things I do in Photoshop with Paint.net. Thanks for raising this.

Thanks for all the tutorials man !!

I'm glad you like them - hoped they helped you out!

I reuploaded my texturepack! It incorporated many of your tricks that you've shown, like high contrast maps for transparency between textures.

Just downloaded it - looks great! Keep up the amazing work

Echin44StormCoreFilmsThey are Germany's 3rd best YouTubers I think. They are called PietSmiet and I saw them using your Texture Pack I doubt that you speak German but still here is one of the videos

Wow, thanks for showing me! I had no idea I've no idea what they are saying, but hopefully they like it!
They really like the pack but that's not a surprise because the pack is awesome
Good to hear! I find a lot of videos in German about my pack, so maybe it's been helped along by that video!

I made a really cool cobblestone texture wit this tutorial it took me like two hours because I was fixing the gaps between the stones and sometimes created new stones by doing that. It was amazing you should look at the texture It's in my Awake texture pack on my profile I will redo many textures but I think the cobblestone is perfect
1
Is it this one?
If so, it is infinitely better than my cobblestone - I had trouble with getting mine to be seamless and not having any repeating patterns in it, whilst still keeping the main appearance of the cobblestone. Well done, you've done a brilliant job!

Yeah that's my texture. Thank you very much I just followed your steps when I made the texture and when the gaps were missing I added them with the clone stamp tool It was funny trying to find the gals that you are looking for to clone. I am glad I found your tutorials without them I would have never bean able to do this I really like your cobblestone texture.
Btw, I have noticed that my favorite YouTubers are using your Texture Pack they have more than 1million subs

Glad the tutorials have helped you out - I'm happy that I've been able to assist others in improving their pack!
In regards to your last comment, who may those YouTubers be? I'm quite interested to find out, actually!

As Echin said, quite a significant proportion of Minecraft players run HD packs - they're widely used.
But tell me, who has a computer powerful enough to RUN a HD resource pack?

Nice... I have watched every video of yours and I still don't know how to make textures seamless. Possibly it's just paint.net though. I don't think it has a blur function, maybe you should make a video showing all the possible ways of making textures seamless?
1
I'm not sure what you mean - are you saying you're not sure how to do it in Paint.net, or you're not sure how to do it at all? I go through the whole process of seamless textures in my Stone tutorial (and also my Dirt/Grass tutorial, I think). Hopefully that can help you out.
1
Both. In your videos you said it was just a quick job with the blur tool, but I don't know what a slow job would mean. Does it mean that you're just being more careful, or is there a different method that you use? Is there any mathematical accuracy? If there is there's almost certainly another way to do it. I just wondered whether you knew any other methods of making textures seamless, without using the blur tool, as paint.net doesn't have it and the accuracy of it depends on the maker.
1
I think I meant that it was a quick job, in reference to the fact that it doesn't really take long at all to make it seamless. I wasn't implying that there was a better, slower way to do it; there are indeed other ways, but I don't really recommend them for textures such as these.
When I make the textures seamless, I don't use any blur tool - I just the spot healing brush and clone-stamp tools. I'm pretty sure it would be on Paint.Net somewhere - if you can't find it, try and have an online search.

You should make a non hd texture pack too
1
What, like a 16x16 one? If I ever was to do that, it would be far in the future - I still have lots of 128x blocks left!
1
mainly because, HD items is my thing
but when it comes to HD blocks, im clueless XD

You know that video that uploaded itself? Why did you take it down?
I thought you were teaching us how to texture walls.

The video that uploaded itself was a Call of Duty video from 2 or so years ago - it was certainly not a texture pack video!

Yeah, my brother identified it as an old game. But it was pretty quick texturing!

Very helpful!

Glad you like them! Thanks for watching

I'd like to see how you'd go about doing the fire

For the next few tutorials, now that I've got the resource packs out of the way, I'm thinking that I could cover glass, sugar cane, bricks, and possibly water/lava animations. What do you say?
1
I think its a good idea. Maybe leaves too
