Need Answers! Which Vesrion you prefer playing on?

So I used to make texture packs 1-2 years ago and now I want to get back to it. But I don't know which Minecraft version you guys use to make the pack for those versions! I don't want to spam the same texture pack in different versions. Please let me know which version you prefer!

I would design packs for the latest version, and then (by hand or with a program) convert them to older releases as well when there are large enough differences to make them incompatible. Upload the latest version as the main file, and provide an alternative download link to a mediafire or google drive or something with the other versions.
