Should Minecraft Bedrock not use a manifest for use of texture packs?

If you do not know, the Java version of the game has the .mcmeta file that allows minecraft to recognize that a file is a resource pack. On Bedrock, a manifest is used. The manifest is much more annoying to make, requiring a new manifest for each new pack, and having to fetch a uuid. However, on Java there is just a very simple mcmeta file that makes adding resource packs to your game that requires a little bit of code, and does not even need a pack description, pack name, or pack icon. It makes making experimental packs ao much easier and less annoying than on bedrock.

They are different versions for a reason. Wish it was easier on bedrock but that's just the nature of the beast.

Yes, they are annoying, but I think because Bedrock runs on c++, it requires a manifest file to recognize properly.
