Should PVP packs be given their own category?
As a texture pack creator, seeing my packs being overshadowed by a complete boatload of 1.8.9 PVP packs. The reason I think they should be moved to a different category (or even just a whole separate sub-page,) so people making packs for the latest versions that arent focused on PVP can get their work seen more easily.

To me, the experimental, realistic, simple categories make no sense to me. Where would I put a vanilla edit pack? Where would I put a tweak pack? I think the whole categories need an overhaul, personally.
YES
What exactly is a PvP pack? Is it just a resource pack that changes how weapons look, or is it a mod that changes combat entirely?
I'd describe a PvP pack as one that aims to help you with PvP (example: better frame rate)
There is no such thing as an FPS boost resource pack. Any pack that claims it boosts FPS is a sham, as FPS CANNOT be increased through lower res packs/simpler textures.
Any resource pack that claims to lower your FPS for the sake of PvP should be categorized as a PvP pack regardless.
Yeah they do need their own category, but any of the ones that claim they increase FPS should be taken down, as that is just a lie people include to get more downloads.
or shorter swords, transparent guis etc.
I was mostly talking about resource packs.
