TL;DR many companies wish to get a piece of that sweet sweet Minecraft pie.
However many do strive to be their own thing like Cube World, and Terraria both did have that survival and building aesthetic but have so many different things where players would prefer those games over Minecraft.

good games usually have a lot of rip offs :/ even if those games arent the best they will have more attention because theyre based off popular games
