Would anybody like to see a full texture pack like this?
Would anybody like to see a full texture pack like this? It is a default style 128x texture pack. I am trying to keep the style of default but make it HD and a bit "wobbly".

SinizterDzineI'd use it if you made me a small version with low fire because I play on PvP servers
Look up Zephhyre's texturepack.

I'd like to thank you all for the nice feedback and pointers. I am now realeasing the texture pack, but keep in mind it still has a lot of work to do. Some of the textures aren't final yet and some will need tweaking. A lot aren't even done yet, but I wanted to release it and get some feedback.

Ooh, I like it. I don't care if you're using anything or basing off anything like above, if you finish it please pm me the link!

Make this pack call it painted or something like that
1
Yeah, I was going to do something like that. Maybe not Painted but something to do with paint, like Mining with Paintbrushes or something. I haven't thought about the name much.

Try it, you will see what people think of it

looks interesting
you should try adding a fake bumpmaft effect

I feel really stupid about asking this, but what is a bumpmaft effect?

*bumpmapping sry my bad
bumpmapping is used to add depth reflection and "texture" to... textures and surfaces
you can use a free programm like crazybump to generate a normal map for 3d programms
if you take a look at my texturepack
a lot of the depth in the textures is created by using crazybump to generate a OCC map
and then layering that with the original texture
i should make a more in depth tutorial for this at some point : D
btw im not sure if gimp is capable of using blend modes (if not you wont be able to reproduce this effect in gimp)
if you send me one of your textures i could show you a preview

Al right, I will soon. Gimp does have a bump map filter, and I tested it a couple of times, looks pretty good and I'll be using it later on. Thank you for showing me!

I would really like to see this, but will it only be 128x128 or will you be providing other resolutions for it? I would really like it if it scaled down to 64x64 or even 32x32 as separate resolution packs.
Otherwise, the textures are really nicely done and well-executed. I normally don't go above 64x64 because it just doesn't feel like Minecraft to me at that point, but those textures remind me of Minecraft more than other 128x128s

I am creating it in 128x128 first so I can scale it down later for other versions.

wow, they these textures are beutful

LOL

Yes, YES. It looks awesome. Make it.
1
I love it, even if you're just using a filter in GIMP. Make it, please! BEGGIN' ya!

It looks like a painting

It looks like the cubism distortion filter of Gimp was used on a scaled up version of Default.
1
Ok, you caught me out. But (unfortunately) for most of the textures, you need to do quite a bit more editing.
Thank you for the positive feedback!

Don't listen to those first two comments, it looks awesome and far more detailed than faithful. Also, an interesting technique you have for converting 16x16 to 128x128.
1
I can dig it.
1
Well, it was 128x128, and faithful texture pack is a bit less paint like. But if you two think so, I'll stop and do something else.

looks like faithful

Isn't that just faithful then?
