In this video, I show how to make an EASY Iron Farm in Minecraft 1.20.4 ! (Tutorial)
This Iron Farm/Iron Golem Farm is easy to build and is one of the most efficient ways to obtain Iron while AFK in the early game.
The list of materials required to build this farm is easy to obtain and is shown at the beginning of the video.
This farm works on Java edition in version 1.20 and below. I did not test it on the Bedrock Edition.

That vid is ~28min, but includes even simpler starter variants, an explanation of the theory/mecganics, and a 'let's play' build example: the build instructions alone are 2m20 [from 4:08 to 6:28]
IMPORTANT to both:
Prior to 1.16 mobs in boats would despawn if not otherwise persistant; if building one of these in versions between 1.14 and 1.16 the zombie must be persistant (either nametagged or having picked up an item)
[Adapting this to pre1.14 requires major changes as villages that far back were based on 'valid doors' and required a minimum of 10 villagers and 21 valid doors to spawn golem.s]
