I need a good antivirus and or maleware and that stuff. I used to use AVG, but someone told me it wasn't good. Right now, I have Avira, but the free trial thing. Is it good? is there any better ones?

I used Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. And on my laptop Windows 8.1.

Adblock Plus, avast! or Avira, Malwarebytes Premium (you can get find free codes on Google) and you're set.

If you're looking for free software, Malwarebytes. If you want really good software, ESET. Yes, they are compatible.

So no Avira and no AVG, but I am using the free trial of Avira right now so that windows don't keep bugin' me about no AV and that I should use Windows defender. And also, which should I remove, Adblock Plus, or Adblock? Adblock is "the most popular extension" ,and has 40 million downloads and 2.8 MB, while adblock plus is got 50 million downloads and is only 1.5 MB.

Adblock removes all ads period, Adblock Plus allows companies to whitelist their ads on their site so you see them. If you dont care about having ads on some sites then keep Adblock Plus, but if you want to remove ads altogether, no ads, then keep Adblock.

VipreRescue or Microsoft Security Essentials (which I think is automatically on the pc if it's Windows 8, called Windows Defender).

MalwareBytes, period. Once you get the premium license it's worth every single penny (or nothing if you're a pirate, arr). Avast is full of useless advertisements and other crap you'll never need.
Microsoft Security Essentials isn't enough, and AVG or Avira are just jokes.

And malware is the umbrella term used for all malicious programs.

I personally use Malwarebytes premium. It works phenomenally and my computer remains to be malware-free.

Best anti-virus is being smart about what you click, which e-mails you do and don't open, using online free link/file scanners, and the occasional scan with MalwareByes, in my opinion. No expensive subscriptions to anti-virus software and I have never gotten anything nasty that required a factory reset or extensive registry editing.

You dont need both Adblock and Adblock plus, both achieve the same thing, using two adblocks can slow down your browser. I would recommend getting rid of one.

I have Malwarebytes Premium, works, the only Anti-Malware i would recommend someone pay for. If I didnt have Malwarebytes I would not have any anti-virus software installed. I know what I do online, I know what not to do. Most people who know how to use a computer properly and safely dont need to have an Anti-Virus running. I run a scan about once every two months, and usually get nothing.

or AVG which detects everything unknown as a virus, like Rainmeter and Mabinogi. It helps remove corrupted files that way though! (and has a tuneup thing removing junk files, disk fragmentation's, useless files that slow internet etc.)

Malwarebytes is still better for scanning though.

I suggest Avast, it detects it before it's even installed/downloaded. It's saved me from loads of viruses and is very, very reliable. There is a free version which protects you, but the paid version is a lil' bit better.
