I'm looking for a good gaming desktop somewhere around $3000.
I'd like it to be able to turn Minecraft on full settings with Shaders and still get above 100 FPS.
Is this possible? If not, are Origin PC's worth it?
Thanks in advance

Yes , I suggest you don't go overkill man! 3000 dollars for a pc. Even 2000 dollars is over kill . i just sticking to around $1500 dollars that will give you a amazing computer and if you need to upgrade you have extra money if you want to and you could also get a nice chair , Headphones, Keyboard , Mouse , Mic etc . Also explain what you want to us the pc for and if its gaming what games etc . then i will find a still amazing build but much cheaper.
Just post a thread on this website and you will get probably over 5 good pc builds for around 1500-2000 dollars instead of buying a 3000 dollar pc .

I highly recommend you check out this website for custom gaming pc's that are well worth the price: http://ironsidecomputers.com/

No prebuilt is worth the price.

What is the resolution of your current monitor(s)? 57's build is still probably overkill for you. You can probably meet all your needs for around 1500, maybe less.

Oh, I like windows 8 haha, im running it right now actually, I'd just prefer Windows 7.
If it means more RAM, i'm cool with 8.

We want to be able to run those specs and some other games, such as Skyrim with good settings and the ability to record

$3000 Is actually way overkill for something like that. You could actually spend $1500 and get very similar performance.
1
I bought this one prebuilt for $2000 ($500 of that was a warranty, tax, and a monitor) and I max out all the games I play, including poorly optimized early access games on Steam that everyone else has a hard time running. That said, you could save a lot of money building it yourself and consulting someone who knows parts/gaming well when putting together your build.

Where did you get yours from?
1
Fry's Electronics. I'm not sure if they have locations internationally or not, if you're not in the US, but I know that they'll ship to some countries. I don't think they carry my model anymore though, unless it just isn't listed on their site. The only $1500 Asus they have is one with a 1TB HDD and a GTX760 3GB. Mine has a 500 GB HDD, a 3TB SSD, and a GTX660 3GB.
1
You can get that FPS without a 3000$ computer, don't waste 3k on a computer, you could just spend around 1200$ for one that will run those specs.
1
Sweet! I really apriciate the help guys.
Theres no version of windows 7 that will accept more RAM? I'd prefer to have 32 GB's, but I'll settle for 16 if I must.

Can I ask why you don't like Windows 8? I've found it to perform no differently than 7. Also, 7 Professional can utilize 32.

There are many reasons to not like W8, the reason I don't is because I hate having to go to the stupid tile thing to search something, also desktop gadgets don't work on W8 :/

What is this computer going to be used for?
Strictly for gaming.
What is your budget?
Around $3000
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
USA, No Microcenter
What is included in the budget?
Just the Desktop itself. No keyboards or monitors.
Will you be overclocking?
Probably not... but I don't know much about overclocking
Will you be reusing any parts?
Nope
What OS do you want?
Windows 7 Premium
Any specific case preferences?
Doesnt matter, provided it isn't pink xD
Any other special features that you want in the build?
A large SSD hard drive.

The one above you will do great. It has a 250 Gb SSD, it will run ANY game at 1440p / Surround above 60 FPS and allows for overclocking. You also can't use above 16 gigabytes of RAM with Windows 7.

Watch this if you aren't comfortable with building your own PC.

This will destroy any prebuilt, but first answer these questions.
What is this computer going to be used for?
List what you will be doing with your computer.
What is your budget?
Include amount and currency.
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
Your country lets us know what sites you can order from. If you have a nearby Microcenter they have some great in-store only deals that you can take advantage of.
What is included in the budget?
Things like the tower, the OS, peripherals and monitors.
Will you be overclocking?
Overclocking will require different hardware than a non-overclocking build so we need to know this.
Will you be reusing any parts?
If you are reusing parts list them here.
What OS do you want?
Say which OS you want or say if you already have a copy of one.
Any specific case preferences?
Size, color, etc.
Any other special features that you want in the build?
Stuff like an SSD, large hard drive, RAID, and wifi
