Hello everyone!
I've been looking to build a PC around $600. Could one of the PC experts on here help me?

What is this computer going to be used for?
Playing games, not too high-end, not too low-end, but somewhere in the middle.
What is your budget?
$600
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
Washington, around Seattle. There is no nearby Micro Center.
What is included in the budget?
Tower, OS (I could buy a monitor, speakers, mouse etc. seperately, right?)
Will you be overclocking?
No
Will you be reusing any parts?
No
What OS do you want?
Windows 8.1
Any specific case preferences?
Black, not too flat but not too unique that it costs more money. Maybe a window on the side of the case?
Any other special features that you want in the build?
Wifi, CD/DVD drive. Maybe some blue lights.

What kind of games could this computer play? I'm just checking to see if we both have the same understanding of mid-end games. I don't have too much money, and I'm not very tech-savvy. I don't want to go through the trouble of buying more parts and figuring out how to put them in the PC and remove the old ones.

That computer will play Battlefield 4 on near-max settings, so it'll play mid-range games very well.

Okay, great!

Sorry if this is sort of necroposting, but..
Randomness3333This should be fine then. If you want to cut down the price a bit then you can go with a R9 270/270X instead of the 280 for your GPU. Though i'd wait a week for Black friday/Cyber moday deals. And yes, you can purchase monitor and periphers seperately.

OP wants a computer for midrange gaming. The pentium is fine for that.

This build is powerful, but I recommend upgrading it later (when the new AMD R9 3XX/ NVIDIA GTX 960 and Intel 5th gen CPUs come out).

I mean when it comes to larger applications, i3 comes equipped with a cpu able to handle up to 4 threads at a time.

I have to agree that it's worse, but it's worth more than the i3 IMO because it has nearly the same power usage while performing more or less the same on most games (+/- 10 FPS) and costing way less -($43). It's worth it IMO if you want to have some money left over and you plan on upgrading soon (with Broadline CPUs coming out).

Yup.
....
Nope, there isn't.
Would a Best Buy or Fry's Electronics work? Because those are nearby.

Can you check to see if there's a Micro Center near you?
