Hello everyone. I am here looking for the best laptop I can get for $1000. I want it to play minecraft on mid-high settings with a decent framerate. I'd also like for it to run GMod. I know a lot about desktops, but my laptop knowledge is far worse. (I know parts but not brands).
Thanks!
Also, please do not say to get a desktop.

just get a small case. Some are only as big as xbox ones or ps4. Very portiable. You can always attach a monitor to the case so it would be like a laptop
Already have a desktop. (and its way too OP too...)
Probably going to go with the Y50.

Really, just get an Alienware they might be a little on the expensive side but they do last and they run games very smoothly.
a little bit on the expensive side?
a little bit?!
last time i checked they were like $2500. most people don't have that lyin' around.

Ok they're pretty expensive and there might be better options for his price just those computers will do well for what he is asking.
What? "There might be better options for the price" ofc there are. "Those computers will do well for what he is asking" So will the better option for the price, but better...?
Why would he get an Alienware when the Y50 just posted has better everything for $1000?
OP, go with the Y50.

Anyone have more suggestions?
any other suggestions?
Also I would like these NOT to have intel integrated graphics, preferably an 860m or above. I know it wont be as good as my 780 but its not for hardcore gaming. Thanks for the help so far, everyone.
Screw the portability. Get a PC. PC's have better hardware and can be upgraded, so you get more bang for your buck. Trust me. You'll never regret it.
Unless you really need something portable. Like if you are in college or have a job that requires a computer on the fly.
Also, keep in mind that laptops do not last long. They heat up very easily and most come equipped with mediocre hardware, aren't as modular as desktops, and are difficult to repair.
In conclusion, I definitely recommend getting a desktop PC. Only get a laptop if you actually need something portable.
AAAANND Alienware laptops don't suck. There's a dude called Ali-A on Youtube and he uses an Alienware laptop to play CoD BO2 and Ghosts, and it runs super smoothly.

1: may i ask why you prefer laptop?
2: alienware is NOT the best laptop you can get. they are okay pc's but not the best, look around at some asus, lenovo and msi as well. you may be able to get a great better deal than alienware. more bang for your buck so t speak

I don't really prefer a laptop, I'd like to just get something portable. Also I would not get an alienware.
I would recommend ASUS, Lenovo or MSI
Intel/nvidia preferably, but an A10 would be fine.
What about a laptop with a a10? Or would you prefer intel/nvidia?
anyone wanna help?
