Parts for my PC
I am trying to build a computer I need you're help on what parts to pick please help!
What is this computer going to be used for?
Gaming, mostly minecraft but also other games
What is your budget?
somewhere around 300$ US but I can go over
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
United States Massachusetts, not sure about the microcenter
What is included in the budget?
I already have an OS, a Tower, and a monitor
Will you be overclocking?
No I will not.
Will you be reusing any parts?
I have the tower, OS, and monitor
What OS do you want?
I already have an OS
Any specific case preferences?
Already have a Case
Any other special features that you want in the build?
nope I just want to be able to run and record Minecraft smoothly and hopefully be able to run Tom Clancy's The Division when it comes out. I can always upgrade later if needed but I would like this ASAP. Thank you for the help!

what if I got everything Pluto said but with this CPU?
1
Why would you want the athlon over the pentium? The pentium is only a tiny bit slower in multi core games, but in minecraft it'll be a whole lot faster. Plus the pentium has a upgrade path, while the athlon does not.

So get the 260x instead?

It's not that good, a higher priced gpu that is slower than the 260x
1
Thank you but my friend said
"Tell him how are you going to use the pentium on and intel stock cooler. This pentium is only good for overclocking so good luck with that on stock."

You dont need to overclock a Pentium to get good performance in-game.

Тhe Cpu bottlenecks the GPU just sayin'
1
No it doesnt? A pentium and a 260x is fine.
@pluto, change the cpu to the g3220, as the difference between the two isn't worth the price.

1
It was in a combo with the MOBO that i already picked so it was $2 more then the g3220.
1
Oh, I see. Well looks good for me, except, I'd change the PSU, it's fine for what he's doing, but for upgrades, it'd be better to go with one that has 2 x 6 pin connectors.
1
It is fine for games.
1
It has 3 fans I believe and I could definitely go higher than 300 maybe at very most up to 500 but I would rather stay at 300-400 if possible. It is normal size
1
ok i will make you a build.
1
Thanks (:

It's an obsidian case I think
1
Is a regular size case, or is it smaller, or bigger?
1
You could try this build but I don't recommend you to go with this build.

If you're going on that budget then you'd be best off going for AMD, I'd probably recommend an A8/FX 8-Core CPU, they're really good value for money. You should also go with AMD GPU, such as a Radeon HD. Since you have a monitor, case and OS, that leaves you some more room to spend on your CPU & GPU. You won't really need an overly-expensive MOBO, just something that offers enough connections for what you need. You should also pick up a wireless card if you can't have a wired connection from where you are (i.e. if you're too far away from your router/modem). If your case has fans, good. If not, possibly try installing a water-cooling system. It will sure help to beat the heat, but with a $300 PC, you probably won't be throwing out a ton of heat anyway. A couple of 120mm fans should do the trick. Of course, you'll still need to pick up a harddrive (only go with Barracuda, a 1TB is fine (make sure it's SATA3 7200rpm).
These are just guidelines, and suggestions, not a specific build. Of course, parts are missing from this, but your most important stuff is covered. You'll be able to build something similar to this withing your price range.

Well you don't have chance for running the devison with that budget but here is build that will suit MC perfectly (Sorry for my English I'm Bulgarian)

You can leave the cooler out of that. It is not worth buying an $8 cooler when pretty much all CPUs come with a cooler. Unless you buy used (2nd hand) CPUs.
Also that HDD is expensive and seems to be meant for laptops (it's 2.5"). You can get a 2TB Barracuda for the same price.

The problem is that his build is budget and the cpu dosen't have stock cooler
