Hi all, I recently got this computer and it runs great. Between 60 - 150 fps on Minecraft. Problem is, it runs most "hardcore" games like BF4 on low settings. I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade the GPU on this computer? If so, what GPU do you recommend that is around $150 - $200?

Note: My computer is still Windows 8, and not 8.1.

If you wanted a bit more performance you can get the R9 270X and the same psu that Randomness3333 suggested.

This is a bit better than Randomness, but don't go with Asus. Originally Asus fans were made for NVIDIA GPUs and they put the same in Radeon GPUs. What I recommend is going with Gigabyte or PowerColor.

The cooler is still fine for the 270x. However, on higher end cards there are better options available.

Still, he can go with something better. Also, ASUS is overpriced.

That is a very cheap R9 270X. xD

Oh wow, in fact, ASUS now has cheapest R9 270X because of 5% sale + $20 mail-in rebate. It's original cost is $195 so yeah, it's overpriced when not in sale..

That computer has an APU. Can you tell us what APU it has? You will have to get a new PSU as well as a new GPU.

Looks like he has an AMD A8-7600 with onboard Radeon R7 GPU (those exist, yes).

Oh, how did I not see that.
Well, OP this is what I would recommend. Just make sure the PSU and GPU would fit in your case.

That PC has an AMD Radeon R7. You could just get an AMD Raedon R9. You might have to upgrade your power supply too. 300W is not enough if you want to upgrade your GPU.
Also, you might be able to upgrade to 8.1 from 8 for free. At least I was able, not sure if that has changed.

Almost every desktop PC is upgradeable. I'd suggest calling the manufacturer or opening it up yourself and checking first.
