What do you think of this budget $500 pc?
So, im thinking of building a PC for gaming, hopefully running common games like tf2, Garry's mod, counter strike, ace of spades, half-life 2, etc. on high settings, and other games like just cause 2, planetside 2, and later on some more cool games on medium to high setting, and of course minecraft
I would also like to use it for a workstation for programming in eclipse, or running a minecraft server+Skype+the game+video recording, and be able to stream games on it as well.
The only problem, is tat i don't have a graphics card on it yet, and im open to suggestion on a budget graphics card for what i want.
Anyways, id like to see what you guys think of this computer and please give me some feedback about it, Thanks!

That is not a good PSU. It's not 80+ certified and just unreliable. You rig will draw around 320W so this PSU will be fine.
1
But I do want to upgrade in the future. Such as crossfire which I'm sure will cause much more power needed
1
You can't afford a PSU that can crossfire in your budget.
1
Okay, thank you for the help. One last thing though, could you give me some estimates on fps on what i mentioned in the first post? id just like to know how this current pc will perform a few of the tasks i will be doing Thank you very much for your time!

Can anyone tell me if thats an okay psu for my current build?
1
So i found a really cheap one. 550W. will this work? http://pcpartpicker.com/part/logisys-po ... y-ps550abk
I think i need 500W or above, cause the graphics card said it needs at least 500 w, plus i do plan on upgrading in the future

Wow. In my country that computer would cost TRIPLE the price.

If I were you I would continue saving money, patience will get you a much better computer.
1
Yea, but id like to have a fairly good computer now, and spend a low amount of money, since im going to be turning 16 soon, im wanting to make this the last major purchase till i buy a vehicle
1
OP, I don't see a power supply in your list.
1
ive got 3 or 4 spare computers (junk ones basically) and im going to use the case and power supply from them, at least for now, till i can buy a better one
1
I see. Make sure they are compatible.
1
As in compatible im guessing you mean above the wattage needed for the system, and for the case, the right size? Sorry, im still a bit new to this building a computer thing
1
Could you tell us the power supply specs?
1
One of my power supplies is a Enermax wisper EG365P-VE with a total wattage of 350,
Another one is an NSpire PSP-525S2 with a total wattage of 355, and those are the only ones above 300 watts

What about this: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
I have no clue about video cards, so I left that out.

I wouldn't get that HDD, it's meant to be more of a bulk storage drive than a regular user's drive.

Alright, any recomendations?

Seagate Barracuda or Western Digital Caviar Blue. Both have 1tb models that go for 60$.
1
Alright, changed with WD caviar blue, 1TB

Buy it from Amazon. It's a cent more but you don't have to go through the hassle of a 5$ mail in rebate.
1
Okay, so, could you give me any fps estimates with this current system for some of the things i mentioned in the first post? If not thats fie, but id like to know what to expect with this Thanks for the help as well!
1
Alright, i actually found that there's a western digital (which i prefer over Toshiba) 1 terabyte HDD for like 10 dollars less! Sweet! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2E6Bu
1
Also, i'd spend the extra 5 bucks to get a 1tb hard drive.

Get this motherboard instead. Used the saved money to get a 7850.

For 50 more dollars you can get a pretty decent budget build.

Definitely go with a bigger harddrive. I have 1tb and I've already used up about 600gb just from games alone. And especially if you're going to do game recording it'll be necessary. If you use FRAPS, it saves file in huge chunks of space (example: 2gb for a 1 minute clip of me just standing around in Minecraft).
1
What is your total budget?
1
It looks pretty good. You may want to add some more RAM if you want to do some of that stuff, especially if you want to run a minecraft server with some other small things at the same time. I'd also go with OldTown and upgrade to a 1TB Harddrive. Hard Drive space builds up pretty quick, especially if want to play a lot of games and etc
Hope you enjoy your new PC!

A 7770 or 7790 would be decent. On the Nvidia side of things, perhaps a GTX 650/TI?
How much are you willing to spend?

I believe the AMD 8320 is the same price, I would suggest you get it instead, I would suggest windows 8 for the start times (you can disable the new garbage they added with a small application called Shell). Does the motherboard have build-in wifi card? If not you might want to add one for another 10-15$, get a 1tb drive for an extra 5-10$ and if you can get some 1600mhz ram with a CAS of 8-9, low budget range graphic cards are just not worth it... I would suggest a Nvidia 760 or a Radeon 7870 but those are very much out of your budget range. I would say a Radeon 7770 would be your best bet but you would definitely would want to upgrade it later on.
