I'm really happy with my GTX 660 3GB card. It's handled everything I've thrown at it so far on ulta/very high graphics including Farcry 3, Assassins Creed: Black Flag, Skyrim... Also, I'm having a breeze with poorly optimized early access games on Steam. Where lots of people have been having FPS problems with games like Rust and 7 days to Die, I've had none.
I concerns me that you're looking for something specifically in that price range though. Have you considered what kind of power you're actually going to need for the games you plan on playing? If you're getting prepared for next-gen gaming and wanting a computer to play resource-intensive games, then I get it, but a lot of people don't consider this first, so I must ask.

Perfectly stated, the only thing you'll be losing is Shadowplay (best recorder, and is built in with 7xx series cards)
The 660 would be fine for gaming, as Azie said, it also uses less wattage (still cutting it close though..)

760's are pretty good, and if you can spend a bit more, (28 dollars more) you can go with a 770, and that'd be plenty enough.
Edit: you're psu will be cutting it extremely (unsafe) close with the 770, and still really close with the 760, you may need to upgrade your psu as well...
