I just went back to school, 9th grade, more specifically, today (well, yesterday if you want to be technical) and I freaking loved it. I think it's going to be a great year.

Oh, and also, does anyone else just go for half a day on their first day, or is it just my county?

Ugh. More homework, dark at 3:00 PM, and everything else that makes me depressed. I almost considered keeping weed in my locker.

Happy...I actually have something to do and see some of my friends so...School = Joy for me atleast.

I'm going to school in about 1-2 weeks. I'm actually excited. Probably because elementary school is more fun....

I love school but it gets SO BORING after awhile. Just hopin that Seirra will come back next year to fill me with laughter [I'm not kidding, when Im around her I'm laughing my face off. LMFO?], and Madison to come back so we can chat about Doctor Who

ChronalgaWhen I was in 9th grade, I was 13, since I had skipped a grade (2nd). Now I'm 14. Anyways, here's my advice:

1) Don't hole up in a corner with your friends. Be social, in your own special way. If you juts hide with your friends, you won't get to know anyone, and they will probably ridicule you if they can separate you from your friends. And there will be many times you won't have your friends with you, so you'll want to be on the older kids' good sides. Just show them you're unique.

2) If you're in a smaller school, there's a good chance that some of the kids in your class have siblings in the higher grades. Get to know their siblings, and it can become easier to know the people in their grade(s).

3) The first older people you want to try and befriend are your seniors (12th graders). They can give you helpful advice, as they have been there and done that, and they can offer protection. I know that when I was in 9th grade, my senior friends were really helpful to me (especially since they were great Christians, but I won't go into that here; I don't feel like flaming).

4) Swag doesn't help anything, as there will always be someone who can out-swag you in both directions.

5) Don't be nervous, older kids love that.

6) Unless you've already had plenty of girlfriends, postpone the dating until next year.

This is the most important one:

7) Don't even think about flirting with the older girls. Ever. You will regret it, because I guarantee 87% have boyfriends that will gladly kill you if you haven't followed the previous suggestions. If you have, and you've made sure they're single, it's fine. Just be very careful, and if you can win over their heart, don't expect it to last.

So, to sum things up, try and get on the good side of as many older kids as possible, and be very careful when flirting. Be confident in yourself, and you'll do just fine.

Oh, and as far as the work goes, just show up for class and do the work. That's pretty rare these days, and the teachers will appreciate that. It's really not that much harder than middle school, unless you don't have very high-quality teachers. If your teachers aren't that great, then just do your best.

I've had the same girlfriend since 5th grade. We like each other very much and I think it will last until atleast 12th grade, if not longer.

Impressive. I guess you're good to go for a little while. (I didn't start dating until last year. I wish I wouldn't have started, either.) Just don't be completely destroyed if it doesn't last. Hormones become even more supercharged when high school hits. Sure, you're a little more timid because of the intimidation from the older kids, but you've still got a little of that 8th grade insanity in you. Just be yourself, and you'll be fine.

i just have to say this, enjoy school wile you can, because once you're out every one else is going their separate ways and chances are you will be left behind.

Well, in the UK... Yeah, that part's already been explained. You start "high school" at 11-12. For skipping grades, that's probably true in some schools. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. I was able to skip the 2nd grade because it was a private elementary school of about 40 kids, and my mom worked there.

God, i HATE school. 6th and 7th grade were terrible! I barely want to think of how bad 8th will be.

Why does school start in the middle of the year in America? I never get that. It's not very logical.
