Hello, everyone!
I am here to tell you about the Lacuna Corporation's first, and extremely ambitious title- Frontier! You may have seen my other posts around the site about the game, but we have just launched our IndieGoGo campaign, and are looking for backers!
All backers will receive Steam keys to the game, once it is released, and there are special perks for those who donate more, from early access, to named ingame NPCs.
Anyway, this is our pitch video- please take a look at it to get an idea of what we are trying to achieve. I should point out that it is comprised of a few sketches I drew up in about half an hour, just to give you an idea of where we are going with this.

Imagine yourself in a breathtaking Western landscape, with the power to transform it sitting at your fingertips.
Frontier places you in an awe-inspiringly beautiful worldspace, and gives you the ability to make a name for yourself in the West. Gather resources, hunt for food, cook a wide variety of dishes, and survive in the West. But that's only the beginning. In fact, Frontier isn't even primarily a survival game, it's just one of the many features which we will offer you.
Once you've gathered enough resources to begin crafting, you can create floors, walls, roofs, furniture, vehicles, railroads... the list goes on and on.
Frontier is based on a reputation system, where you must try to gain fame in the West. You begin as a nobody, and develop your character based on your actions. You may decide to build a thriving community by taking things into your own hands, and constructing a settlement. If you connect your town to the rail network, settlers will begin to arrive by train. You can amass your fortune by presiding over your own frontier town.
But the game does not limit you to just that- you can become a rich cattle baron, if you choose, or perhaps a world-renowned bounty hunter. Frontier provides you with countless opportunities to conquer the West.
Combat is also an important feature of the project. You will be able to defend your settlements from bandit attacks, coyotes and bears, and even Native tribes! Construct a wide range of authentic weaponry, from Colt revolvers, to Winchester repeaters. Take up arms and protect your people!
From building structures, to claiming bounties, every action your complete in Frontier will affect your reputation. The more famous you become, the more opportunities that will become available to you. Losing settlers will decrease your reputation, so make sure that you defend your people well. Your sheriff's department will assist you with this task, so you aren't left to fend for your towns alone!
The reason we are looking to crowdfunding to get our game idea off the ground is because we need to hire professional programmers and sound artists to make our idea a reality. We already have 3D modelers, graphic designers, UI artists and animators on board, but we can't complete anything without a programmer. By backing our campaign, you will be directly funding development. With all of the money we raise, we will contract high-quality industry professionals to create an unforgettable title.
We are currently planning on releasing Frontier in around 6 months, although this could be shortened greatly if we reach our target sooner. The more money we raise, the more team members we can hire to make this an awesome title. We will be publishing to Steam greenlight once we have an alpha release ready, which all backers will receive steam keys to.
