So yesterday I was posting in "General discussion" section and only now noticed that it is somehow merging with "General help", now my question is would it be okay if I would post my questions in general discussion?

A general rule is that if you're asking for help it belongs in help. If you're asking for opinions, it belongs in discussion.
Sometimes questions may be asked in General Discussion for the sake of discussion; "what's your favorite server type?" "How to succeed in doing ______?". These would warrant different opinions and answers.
Whereas General Help is for things that warrant a standard sort of response regardless of opinion and technical sort of questions. "How to start this game" "What's 2+2". "How to fix this thing"
