Minecraft help for my son

Hello everyone. My 4 yo son is really in to Minecraft. He tried his best to make a home, crammed with stuff. It was nothing crazy or anything, it was literally crammed with stuff haha.
unfortunately, he told me a creeper got in and blew up? And destroyed his house? He seems rather devastated, but I don’t know enough about the game.
I am not very Minecraft savvy, so I figured I’d join and reach out here to see if someone would be able to help. I’d love to surprise him with something awesome. Not sure if someone could build him something and he would be able to have it or the world or realm or whatever. Or maybe give me some decent guidance so I can try to accomplish something when I have spare time. He has an Xbox and we just got a switch recently. Not sure if they are cross compatible?

there are a couple of good tutorials online

Xbox and Switch versions are indeed cross compatible. They are both Bedrock version, which is every version of Minecraft other than Java, 3DS, and the two Legacy Console versions.

You can also do /gamerule mobgriefing false than no mobs or monsters can destroy any block. I hope this helps. :o)

Building new houses or building doesn't really take long to rebuild. you can turn off explosions from creepers using /gamerule mobgriefing false in the command chat as EZBoi11 said. (can also put it on peaceful). And yes, the Switch and Xbox can play together.

If you want to build him a new house, I suggest looking at real-world houses for examples. I would say more but other people have pretty much covered it!

Building a bunker isn't that hard. You can upgrade is builds later on

Ah, creepers. The monsters that blow all our hard work. I could come on if you had Java, but no. So just youtube up something, and build a house, disable mobgriefing.

Tell him to find real world houses for an example, and also use fences.

teach your 4yo son to play some more until hes 8 and then he will know what to do but expect complaints about bedtimes
