Opinions on New Banner Section?
So if you've looked at the pop-reel recently, you'll have seen the new banner shop section of the site. So I wanted to know, what are your opinions on it? I couldn't really figure out how to make the banner creator work . Also, this seems like a section which is going to be flooded with spam, stolen banners, [i]accusations[i] of stolen banners, and overall a ton of hate. Still, I'd like to see how this new section turns out.
Now, what are your opinions on this idea?

I believe what Paril means is, there are only a set amount of colours and options to choose from, so people will make the same or similar banners purely out of coincidence, so we won't deal with people "stealing" other people's work as it most likely won't be purposeful.

I don't think we should worry about such a little section, to be honest I love the new addition and it was confusing at first (I thought they meant like server banners) but I think it's great to have.

That's exactly what I thought at first

I think it's a cool thing to have, however it likely won't be something you would download and use yourself, like the skins texture packs all those sections, more of something to check out some nice banners PMCers make. I think it could be cool.

It's going to be very community-driven. Since there's very little space and combinations we likely won't be handling any stolen accusations or anything. Silly thing to worry about in this case.

Considering all you need to do to "steal" a banner is rearrange 2 of the patterns, I'd say that there is still a potential problem with plagiarism claims. I've already seen at least one person do it.

Obviously it's gonna happen, but it happens everywhere. How do we fix it? We can help the mods by reporting plagiarism and providing valid proof that it was stolen. I think what you're describing is more of... inspiration. Someone sees a submission, likes it, and uses the same general idea but doesn't necessarily "steal" it.
It would be ethical if people could give others credit in these cases though, however not necessarily "rule breaking" imo if they don't.
