Optifine or forge doesn't show up in installations after new minecraft launcher today

so today I wanted to pvp so I went to select the 1.8.9 forge profile, but it wasn't there. The optifine profile wasn't there either, so I made a new profile with the optifine, but nothing showed up. I reinstalled 1.8.9 optifine, the same jar. file, and it says "optifine is successfully installed", but it doesn't show up in the launcher like it did last time, no "OF" red profile logo. Is it because i didn't update mc? What is the problem?

Go in the "Installations" screen and tick the "Modded" box
