PvP or PvE or Mix?
So well would like to know what would players on a server like more?

So we did it like this, player can claim their land and there is no PvP, open world PvP and arena PvP is enabled but there is also a command that lets you turn PvP off.

PvE, but have a glaadiator arena where you pay for entrance fees, 1v1 and audiences cn bet for the winner

Good idea, now I hope I am allowed to say this, but please if you have any idea post it on our forums which you can find on our server post! I check there more offten than on PMC due alot of posts I reply and its a bit hard to find right this one.

There was this quite good system in a server I used to play on - basically, you gain money, and you can use a golden shovel to claim your land at the cost of money. it was only PvE, but people could wear assassin masks, and that let them go PvP

Sorry for lack of info, was in hurry when I made this but anyways here is what I mean:
PvP w/ Factions
Factions for protection, PvP enabled everywhere even killing in houses!
PvP No Factions
Like umm PvP everywhere except in players houses. Kinda like a RPG MMO in which you are safe in town and as soon as you step in wild every one and everything can attack you.
PvE w/ Grief Prevention
PvE without PvP, there will be story line for the server (kinda) and lets say a "little dungeons" if I find a nice plugin for it in which players would need CO-OP to finish like lets say healer+tank+dps and so on. Oh and players would be able to kill you in your house but not destory it and than you could put bounty on that player for killing you.
PvE and PvP with no killing in houses
Self explanatory I guess. PvP allowed as in mode above but just without killing in your private house.

I dont know how many players this would get but it would be cool to have a PvE server that has PvP enabled, but its not focused around killing other players

I believe PvE means there isn't PVP, it's just the players against the environment.

There's a PvP + PvE option so it sounds like the plan isn't just "no PvP"

PVP sometimes tears apart the server community.... I honestly recommend if people are looking to start a survival server, it should be non-pvp.
