yes i have been wanting to play with friends and all i am able to do is play with them on a public server AND IT SUX!!! i love the xbox 360 version better cuz u can join your friends if ud like. but ots to bad cuz id rather play pc but i gets to boreing by myself

Yes this would be good But would be very very difficult to implement as the coding it would require would be significant. But altogether a very good idea.

Although it would be easier if they added a "Friends" tab to the main screen where you can add friends that way.

They may add the Friends list to the MC lobby like when you click it and it has the normal screen where all the servers and worlds but there you can ADD FRIEND instead of ADD SERVER and then see what that friend is doing like :
