That's not what that stands for. . .

And I'm pretty sure Mr. Gates has better and more worthwhile things than setting up a Minecraft server.

If Bill Gates made a Minecraft server...

-No Lag.
-Unlimited people can join. (Like the MCOrigins server.)
-Custom resource pack, "The Bill Gates Pack", made by Bill Gates himself, and in it everyone would be Bill Gates because he would override the skin servers.
-He would claim all houses as his and sell them for 100,000,000 US dollars. Real money.
-And of course, Bill Gates would troll everyone by spawning them on a pressure plate that teleports them into lava.
-Also then they would appear in the world so they could make the house that Bill Gates would claim.

As wtih all of Microsoft's software, it would do all sorts of things that a server isn't supposed to do/isn't even related with and is uncalled for, and would probably require some buggy, badly made API to be installed on your computer for you to join. After that, it would install IE and put ads on your desktop, then go onto either promoting Microsoft products, making the server require Windows and an ActiveX version of Minecraft being run from the Windows Marketplace, and you would need a Microsoft account to join.

Edit: Also, there is no way this server would be able to hold "millions of people", or even thousands. Minecraft's server software is badly made and horribly optimized, which would lead to the solution of making the server more of a hub (multiple servers connected with bungee). Minecraft was made as a small fun project for a forum (hence the lack of optimization), but now that it has become popular, they've finally realized that things like VBOs should be implmented. Hopefully they work on the rest of the game's sloppy code and optimization as well.

Why do people think its going to be related with Microsoft? He isn't full time at microsoft anymore, and I dont think he really cares anymore, he may pop into their offices once in a while, but other than that, he does a lot of charity work and donates a lot of his time and money to different charities.

I dont think he would charge access, unless its for charity, as he is a very charitable person.

I would just guess that it would have good hardware and software and be orientated to casual crowds since that seems to be the trend for most Minecraft servers,

KansasCityGirlIt would lag, and his Face would be on every block. The sad part is that it would be X-Box only. xD

Drazile12It would be Xbox-One only.

Both of you are wrong, Bill Gates is Neutral-Negative on the Xbox brand, he even said himself that he would support selling the brand, But the reason why it exist is that Bill saw it as a potential cash cow seeing the success of the PS2, which has proven to be true, but the Company lost money making the Original Xbox and the 360 due to the high prices of their hardware at the time. So it would be unlikely for him to make it X1-only.

X1 or any other platforms other than PC don't even have dedicated servers. ._.

He would charge on extortionate amount of money to gain access and once you had gained access every few years he would create a new one charge an extortionate amount to access this one and when nobody buys it he would simply 'discontinue support' for the older one. Am I right???

[EDIT]

Essentially re-selling the same thing only making it look nicer...sound familiar???
