Here's my advice:
Step 1: Use the default texture pack.
Step 2: Make an original spawn.
Step 3: Get shaders and the camera mod, like GameState said.
Step 4: Don't make it cracked.
Step 5: Use some less cringe-y music.

(Don't forget to give him credit, of course)
