Your thoughts on the YouTube 40-60 FPS support?
Recently, YouTube announced that it will be supporting 48-60 FPS videos soon. What's your opinion on this? I think it will bring new life into the gaming community.
Here's the link for the statement, for anyone who's interested:

I'm happy about this news. Does anyone have a link to an official statement that was made regarding this?

I couldn't find an official link, but I did a google search and found abunch of links about it, on places like pcgamer, and they had sample videos, of it playing at 60 fps.

As an animator, THIS IS AMAZING NEWS. I have been waiting amd wanting this for so long... I've animated in 60 FPS and it looks great, excited to show off how good it looks.

Don't really care.

They are adding proper frame rate and already have 4K video, yet they still can't get the video quality right, there is so much compression, it's not even real "HD" And then the audio quality is also highly compressed.
Please don't tell me that next, they will put FPS compression (if it even exists) and make it seem like 30fps...

Bump.

Seeing as how most modern laptops can even record at 60 FPS, it shouldn't be a problem for small YouTubers.

Sounds like it will use excessive amounts if internet.

Means that people that cannot record over 30 fps are now screwed.

The video uploader picks what framerate it will be at.
1
Really? That's pretty good.

No, you have to render the video out at the framerate. Usually if you cant reeally get over 30fps, it turns out worse. I agree, it will make it even harder for smaller youtubers to gain more people.

No, youtube will figure out what framerate it is, and then you can pick either 30 or 60 fps. If you only have 30 fps videos, then it won't be any different.
