Been googling this, still unsure if it is possible - colour item names with anvils

Seriously, will need to know for a map I am planning, but is it possible to change the colour of an itemwhen you rename it, and how do you do so in java. All I can find is how to do it on bedrock.

A lot has changed wrt item names. The best you can do is apply color codes while messing with a book & quill but not in an anvil.

I think it is Impossible to do it in vanilla Minecraft java edition without any datapacks.

iirc there is a datapack that lets you do that (without datapack/commands it is impossible tho)
