Hey, I've been trying for almost two hours now to change my username to "woah". For some reason, this username is "taken" even though every site says it's available. I know that Mojang sometimes blocks offensive names, but what is wrong with "woah"? How can I check if this is a blocked username? Mojang appears to be 100% up, so it must be blocked, although I can't imagine why on earth it would be.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I had a similar problem. I would try and snipe a name (ridiculous, ik) and it would say it was taken, but it would show up as available. I can assure you that a name like woah is 100% taken. I'm not sure why or how, but sometimes sites will just say the name is available when its not. When you are trying to get an og name especially, it loads forever, and then it just won't work. I'm pretty sure it means the name is taken. I tested this on namemc. It used to say "blocked" for offensive usernames, but now it just says "available" for some reason (idk why). I'm not an expert at this, but this is just based off of my experience.

NameMC no longer receives info from Mojang as to whether or not names are blocked, apparently. "Woah" was available for a short amount of time, as I watched the timer hit 0 for it. Someone just sniped it from me apparently, as there's now a new account with that name.

Yeah a lot of people use sniping bots to get names, so manually trying to snipe a name is difficult.
