how can i use the old music in minecraft. i tried a resoruce pack but it still plays the new music

Download a resource pack with legacy sounds. Google "legacy sounds pack" and you should find one shortly.

check the file names of the old music tracks in your resource pack. you may need to edit them to match the new music tracks.
check also to make sure the folders in your resource pack match the same labels and sequence as the version you are using.
then the game will play those tracks instead when you select your resource pack.
