Missing registry files

i have a RLCraft server but hen im trying to connect it says missing registry files restarted the server and then it was logging in for 1 minute and then saying connection lost timed out.
server is fine, ports are working ive played on this server with my friends before but now it doesn't work.
i copied all of the rlcraft mods from the folder but it keeps giving me the missing registry files error or logging in for 1 minute and then failing to connect
help?

As a quick test, on the client side, rename your .minecraft\config folder to something like .minecraft\config-old
Restart your client and a new config folder will be created with new config files. After your client starts, (assuming it does) try connecting to the server again. This will just eliminate any potential config issues.
