Name Changes - Optifine capes gone!

So, I changed my name, and most of us may know what OptiFine capes are, well anyway, I no longer have access to the OptiFine login and the cape is gone, this has happened to several others I know.
For people who haven't changed their name yet and have optifine capes, transfer it to another account first so you don't lose it!

Optifine capes were removed due to it being a different username. Since the optifine mod doesnt recognize the UUID's, it is still registed to your original.
Say if my last name was: JammersXAM
and I changed it to Jammers.
The cape is still recognized to the player JammersXAM, even though the name is not real. Since you have registred your account on optifine.net, you can't log in.
One of 2 things.
Either donate again

wait untill optifine supports UUID's.

The Optifine guy (and all other cape givers) is gonna have to update the method people get capes with the New "Player ID's" instead of usernames, don't worry, your cape will be back, nobody was scammed

Mojang wants to get rid of Optifine capes, that's what I heard.

I didnt know what would happen so i moved my cape to an alt then back.

Send a message to the optifine creator, his code relies solely on your username so changing it is a bad idea unless you let him know beforehand.

Yeah, I lost mine too. I also couldn't get my bonus on some servers.
