Need help with spawnpoint

ShelLuserI am trying to make a lucky block race
What I want to do is change someone's spawnpoint while being in the end
Not to spawnpoint IN the end I know that's impossible
The idea is that the player have a spawnpoint when they get in the portal
But when they are at the end of the race, once they get out of the end (a command block just teleport them in a portal) they are in the lobby
I know that when you get out of the end you are automatically in your spawnpoint
So I want to change the overworld's spawnpoint WHILE being in the end
Sorry if it's not clear the situation is kinda tricky and my english is not that good xd

Like you said: you cannot set your spawnpoint to be in the End but the thing you're overlooking is that you can still set while being in the end. It simply won't apply to the End dimension but the Overworld. This also applies to the Nether by the way.
So: simply set /spawnpoint for the player(s) to a specific coordinate and that will automatically apply to the Overworld.
