I'm using Optifine with the GLSL Shaders mod for 1.5.1. When I load a world or get on a server, everything works as it should for a few minutes, then it starts freezing, sometimes causing me to have to force quit Minecraft. (I'm on a Mac) I'm pretty sure it's Optifine because this has happened before without the shaders mod installed. Please help!

EDIT: Resolved!

Hm. How are you installing Optifine? I use Magic Launcher to install mods and that works like a charm.

I install all mods manually, I don't want to install software that I don't need.

GLSL shaders needs Optifine to work correctly, I think, so I don't see Optifine being a problem.

Optifine shouldn't be freezing your game. Try re-installing it. Optifine should be installed last after any other mod you install. You can install some mods after it, though.

Ok, I was installing Optifine first, I'll try that.

Also, I believe SonicEther's Shaders has an auto-installer.

Well, I've got GLSL and SEUS in 1.5.1. Working fine for me...

Try that tutorial on how to install them. The guy also provides the links in the description to everything you'll need.

What download of Optifine are you using (Ultra, Standard, Lite)?
I am pretty sure it requires Optifine Ultra.

I'm using the correct version, Optifine A8 Ultra. Nice profile pic btw.

Laugh out loud! GLSL Needs a Awesome computer, and optifine, its probably GLSL's Shading Mod, try uninstalling GLSL's Shadding mod and I think optifine will work (I'm on a mac too.")

Like I said in my original post, I think it's Optifine because I have had this problem without shaders installed.

does it actually freeze? or is your framerate dropping so far that
stuff becomes unresponsive? if it starts after some time then maybe high temps?
do you have the problem with a fresh JAR, no optifine or mods installed?

Nope, this never happens with a fresh jar. It appears that it does freeze, but I obviously can't check the framerate while it's frozen. It does start up again occasionally, but most of the time it just freezes and stays there.
