i am trying to make the loot tables for wolf's and tamed wolfs different
first of all i am just checking if it is possible and that i am just wasting my life

I guess it's possible. But it won't be through two separate files. Instead, you'd have conditionals that choose what loot to drop based on whether the wolf is tamed.
