Dude. Some animals disguise themselves as plants so they wont be eaten/or seen. A Creeper isn't made out of leaves, it's just so it can creep up on ye.

Notch, when asked, said himself that the greenish texture on the creeper should be viewed as a "natural, crunchy texture, like when you walk on leaves in the fall."

Continuing what DalekPotato said.. I think that notch had a pig bug when creating the pig, and all he did was color the creeper green. Who knows maybe the whole Pig error thing is just a myth.

Nawww, creepers have faces, walk, and act like intelligent creatures. No roots, therefore it is not a plant or fungus. DalekPotato is right, they were a mis-coded pig that Mojang decided to re-texture and turn into its own entity.

Nah, they can't be made of peat moss. Peat fires its seeds from a seperate flower, whereas creepers fire... well, themselves... in a radial fashion from the inside out. It would destroy the seeds.

Correct, creepers were actually pigs but when making it the body turned out the wrong way (making the creeper form) notch liked the form and recolored it making the creeper
