So no-one seems to have mentioned it yet. The 1.8 pre-release is out and working playable and legit from minecraft official site.
How are people enjoying it - its pretty cool right?
Edit: In case it isn't blindingly obvious it is a pre-release version you cant auto-update your game you need to download it. Its from the minecraft.net server.

Another thing I just figured out... in creative mode, holding F6 moves time backwards and F7 moves it forward. For anyone that was wondering.
I just got pwned by the enormous biomes... I was in a ocean for five minutes..

The Bioms are looking great and its fun that you have to hunt the animals, but enderman isnt really that good.. I tested it and it was nah, I dun like them.

Wow I just found the mineshaft tunnels with cart tracks and pre-placed torches. Then I found an abandoned mineshaft with the new blue poisonous spider mob surrounded by cobwebs that make you move slowly now. This new update is pretty neat.

Do a Force Update first, then locate the minecraft.jar and replace it with the 1.8 minecraft.jar.

This is actually pretty interesting so far, been exploring some of the old mineshafts ,which are really huge, tho still a bit buggy, came across the new spider spawn and not to far beyond that found a chest with a few diamonds in it. The ravines feature also looks really good. My version seems to be a bit choppy in the fps tho, anyone else having that problem?

I found a village!!
though pigmen are coming in 1.9.
I'm guessing villages might come in 1.9 and not 1.8 but I'm sure its the NPCs living in villages that come in 1.9
and I found enderman.it died in water.
they seem to only deal 1 heart damage to the player.

I love how quickly this threads mood turned around as soon as you posted the link? Why didnt you just do that in the first place? That would have saved a lot of grief and there would have been much less bickering and this could have been a productive thread about how much you love the update. People shouldnt be so quick to flame and stuff with no credible evidence supporting their side or disproving anothers.
