How did you get the chickens to work? You should make one with 1 button connected to several dispensers so you get a chicken more often.

Well, I thought I got the chicken thing to work by giving it more space in front of the dispenser, but more often than not, the chicken just stays up there in the space, flapping around.

That is a fact. Another cool(?) thing is that if you have it dispense eggs with only one empty block in front of it, occasionally a chicken will spawn out of it, only to suffocate and die on the spot. (credit to kacboy for that discovery lol)
