Im looking forward to both, and the ability for mods on servers to go to creative mode at a whim that only affects them, is a plus also.

You dont start with items. You CAN turn off villages. And there's a game mode called survival. GET YOUR FUCKING FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU START TALKING SHIT.

Dude... Adventure MODE will not be part of the Adventure UPDATE. I know its confusing so ill slow it down a bit. Notch said adventure mode would come out after the FULL RELEASE of the game, which is November sometime i forget the date (not the 11th, Notch moved it to a week later), and the mode would make no blocks placeable or breakable, and be a dungeon mode. The Adventure UPDATE spices the game up making new mobs new features and more combat. Research better next time

You know that the wiki says "OPTIONAL" Npc Villages. Note the word OPTIONAL. So if you dont like the NPC villages, then you dont have to use them:D and you dont start with items.... And yes please read the wiki, it has lots of new cool things(:

Guys, are you serious? Adventure mode won't be in this update nor the next (1.8 part 2, I mean). I READ the Upcoming Features, everything. It will only have Creative and Survival. Don't get confused because of the name, guys... At least, tell me where do you read about that mode... indeed it will, there will be a mode selection right before you create a single player map. You can have Creative, Survival, and Adventure, but I think this will come at part 2 of 1.8

There is so much awesome stuff in 1.8!! LIke no clouds through buildings, npc's, no more decaying leaves placed by users, adventure mode!!!! etc...

No, natural leaves still decay. User-placed leaves don't though, so you can make hedges. And even if leaves didnt decay at all i would be fine because the decay mechanic was broken in Alpha and i learned to deal with it
And whoever already is hatin' on 1.8 i suggest you try it first. AT LEAST experience all the features, and then decide if you like it or not. You can always go back, notice if you go to the bin the minecraft.jar automatically makes a previous version backup. Just use that. If anyone goes back, I dont blame you. But i think i speak for most people when i say i am looking forward to this update so much i cant stand it!

you are wrong :O the only time you ever start with items is if it was CREATIVE MODE not survival and the survival is gonna have the adventure mode in it i guess so you dont start with items and those videos THEY WERE EITHER NOTCH playing 1.8 with them voicing over the video or it was just them at PAX playing the demo
