Does anyone know when 1.8 will be out?
I've seen a lot of posts and saw that it looks like it will be good...over all the hype I haven't seemed to see a release date though. . .

i thought 1.8 was coming out near the end of summer
You can expect the release to be within the next two months.
I think you should just stay tuned on the m inecraft forums news section, as they leak more and more about 1.8
i may be remebering this wrong but i think notch is planningt on releasing 1.8 before the game is released out of beta and that is in november some time most likely 1.8

Everyone here is wrong, if you payed attention to notches blogs it will be available to play at some convention (FORGET NAME) around auguest 15. SO it will eaither come out at the end of this month or the beginning of september This answer is 100% correct! This is the real answer.

Notch never stated that updates would end after the release date! It's more of a protocol for the gaming industry. That doesn't mean that the release of new content will be discontinued. We can expect small updates and possibly large ones after the official version is put in stores.
I don't really know but I hope it's around October ._.
It should end at 2.0 after a few more updates. Minecraft 2.0, its catchy!
11/18/11 is right, I've heard that it's not supposed to go past beta 2.0 and that in the full release there will be 3-5 game modes and multiplayer will be it's best ever. Plus, in 1.8, there is supposed to be mod support

Wait, are you saying the final game is coming out then? So 1.8 is the last update? That doesn't sound right...
