I suggested (and not seen it done) a complex food mod :

Step 1 Add (biome) REEF :
*Wil be build mostly of CORAL (new block)
*will spawn as a ""ridge" in deep water, with the "top" of the ridge 1-4 blocks underwater, while the "base" of the ridge is 18-30 blocks underwater, in mittle of the "top" is a rift, following the same baseline as the "top", going down all the way to bedrock.
*aside from the ridges, this terrain will be flat, deep water of 18-30 blocks deep.
*volcanoes are also a spawn in this biome, they will spawn as a single "hills/mountains" their base is made from stone, their top from obsidian. They will be hollow and filled with lava. 3-9 blocks below the "top" the top of the volcano will reach anywhere between 10 blocks underwater and 15 blocks above water. They randomly will have "cracks" of 3-20 blocks large where lava can pour out. they can spawn anywhere in this biome but spawn more often right on top of the "ridges"
*volcanic isle (a rare spawn) it is like a volcano that has it's top above water, but higher, upto 18-23 blocks above water, and will be surrounded by a small patch of dirt (about 4-7 blocks around the volcano) and a small patch of sand (about 2-4 blocks around the dirt), the island will not have any trees, but plenty of grass and flowers.

Once you added this biome, step 2
Step 2 Add underwater structures
*sunken temple (just as the name sais, located in this biome, near volcanoes, or ridges, at depth 7-20
*underwater city (lantians) : one or multiple glass domes on the bottom of the sea (only possible at flat ocean floors at depth 18-30), that has a basic villiage in it, made from coral and stone (do some nice designing, or I could design them), domes can have glass tunnel to other domes (and will have iron doors to get in/out)

Step 3 : Add new TREES
*we create a new model for trees, tropical trees (their trunk is only 1/4th the thinkness of normal trunks, their leaves are "halfslabs"
*they dot NOT drop seedlings, they are multiplied by "seeding fruits"
*breaking their leaves will always drop fruits.
*they come in multiple varieties.
-appletree (grows apples)
-orange tree (grows oranges)
-banana tree (grows banana)
-pear tree (grows pears)
-coconut tree (grows coconut)
-fig tree (grows figs)
-nut tree (grows nuts)
*I'll leave you free to apoint biomes where they can spawn. I'd would like you to add "orchards" to village-spawns though, with appletrees.

Step 4: add grapes to vines :
*a second type of vine will be added, called grapevine, it will start as a normal looking vine and grow vines and can be places against any type of tree (kinda how cocoa grows)
breaking it premature will only give vine back, breaking it just right, will give vine and 3 grapes.

Once we added all THIS, we can get going with the food :

*1 coral can be grinded into 4 ceramic powder.
*6 clay (chunk) + 2 ceramic powder + lapus lazuli = 1 (unbaked) porcelain plate.
-> cook in oven to get : Porcelain plated (baked)

will create 10 glas jar with lid.

And NOW we start :
8 grapes + 1 bottle of water = bottle of wine
*brewing 3 bottles of wine with 1 fiery rod, will make 3 bottles of port
8 wheat + 1 bottle of water = bottle of beer
*brewing 3 bottles of beer with 1 fiery rod, will make 3 bottles of whiskey
8 potatoe + 1 bottle of water = bottle of potatoe
*brewing 3 bottles of potatoe with 1 fiery rod, will make 3 bottles of vodka
8 sugar + 1 bottle of watter = bottle of soda
*brewing 3 bottles of soda with 1 fiery rod, will make 3 bottles of rum
=> ALL these beverages will have the "alcoholic" effect, it will boost damage done, lowers defence rating. and give the drunk effect (that will make vision blurry)
=> bottle of potatoe will also have th YUCK effect (a mild case of food poisening)

2 apples + sugar + glass jar = jar of applesauce
2 oranges + sugar + glass jar = jar of marmelade
2 figs + 1 sugar = fig jelly
6 pears + sugar + 1 bottle of wine + 1 glass jar = 3 jars of cooked pears
2 grapes + 1 sugar = raisins
8 cocao + 1 sugar = 3 pure chocolate bars
7 cocao + 1 bucket of milk + 1 sugar = 3 milk chocolate bars
3 cocao + 4 buckets of milk + 2 sugar = 3 white chocolate bars
Coconut (inside morter and pessel) = coconut power
2 coconut power + 1 sugar = 2 coconut bread
pure chocolate (inside morter and pessel) = 3 chocolate powder)
3 empty bottles + 1 bucket of milk + 2 chocolate power + 1 sugar = 3 chocolate milk.
1 empty jar + 4 chocolate power = jar of chocolate paste
8 organges + bucket = bucket of orange juice
3 empty bottles + bucket of organge juice => 3 bottle of orange juice.
3 empty bottles + bucket of milk => 3 bottles of milk (same effect as bucket of milk when used)
3 coconuts + 1 bucket = bucket of coconut milk (same effect as normal milk, alternative source)

1 bread + 1 jar marmelade = 3 marmelade sandwich
1 bread + 1 jar fig jelly = 3 fig sandwich
1 bread + 1 jar of chocolate paste = 3 chocolate sandwich
1 bread + 1 coconut bread = 3 coconut sandwich

1 raw potatoe + 1 carrot + 1 cooked beef + 1 porcelain plate = hachee
1 baked potatoe + 1 jar of applesauce + 1 cooked chicken + 1 porcelain plate = fries & chicken
1 backed potatoe + 1 baked fish + 1 porcelain plate = fish&chips
3 wheat + 1 coconut powder + raw chicken + raw fish + 1 porcelain plate = nasi goreng
2 cooked pork +1 cooked potatoe + 1 porcelain plate = spareribs
2 cooked beef + 1 cooked potatoe + 1 porcelain plate = BIG steak meal!

ALL jars & plate-dishes are items that can be placed, to quite litterly place food on the table.

Baker's mod. Make many cakes, muffins, donuts, pies, etc. Add Ovens, Crock pots, Blenders, and more. Plus if you want to get saucy, make a mob that if you cook wrong, a giant gunk monster comes to kill you for your bad cooking. Just an idea...

well if you did make a mod with something that needs toppings you would add the toppings right

You should do a cannibalism mod or a mod where you can eat live chicken cows sheep pigs.

There are too many food mods. Make something original

Cooked mushrooms, turnips, cooked turnips, cooked carrots, chicken nuggets, chicken legs, raw turkey, cooked turkey, and a snow cone. (If anyone else has chosen one of these foods, I haven't read the post, I just skimmed through it.)
