Help! Cant Turn back to 1.7.3!
I recently got the 1.8 pre release and ran into some deep trouble. I lost my files to change back into 1.7.3 or my original version! i tried deleting it all and redownloading the entire game, but to no success. i deleted the .minecraft folder and then tried downloading the game but came out with the same outcome. Someone please help me!

Ah, that is an error recived from Zombe's Modpack. On the main login menu, before starting the game, above the word 'log in', there should be a button that says options. Press that. Then press Force Update, and log in.

"Zmod: error detected - one or more mods affected
First error: failed to load configuration from config.txt
Log: C:\Users\(Name)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods\zombe\log.txt"
What is this and how can i make it go away?

You Must've Put The Un-Updated 1.7 Flymod into your bin It'll Say that if so. If Not .Soz bro Force update.. And Atleast you didnt get hacked lol

i did try to delete everything and redownloading but after i ran it it started up 1.8 again. how does the .jar switcher work
1
it's a simple xcopy operation. IT takes the jars from the folders in the "resources/JarSwitcher/" folder. and pastes them into the right spot. It also launches the client for you as well.
To run it, extract the contents and run pangammainstaller.bat.

Or just delete your bin and let it reupdate.
This is why I keep backups of various versions.

That is exactly what I do. I have every single minecraft .minecraft folder ever made. (bins don't keep saves) and i save the saves with it and make a small readme of the contents, such as 1.8 PR (TMI) meaning its 1.8 pre release with TooManyItems mod,

if worse comes to worse, delete the .minecraft folder and run minecraft.exe again

weird....I just deleted my bin folder and it went back to 1.7.3

you are both in luck. I just finished a jar switcher. It'll help you switch between 1.7.3 and 1.8.
http://bit.ly/Pangamma2
it's coded in DOS bat script language.
